Start by removing any debris from your windows, such as cobwebs or dust, with a soft cloth. The last thing you want is to smear dirt across the glass!
Next, create a warm, soapy mixture and gently apply it to the glass with a cloth or a non-abrasive sponge. Some people prefer to use vinegar and water, so it depends on what you have ready to use.
You should also follow up with a squeegee to remove any streaks. Then, wait for the glass to dry and check it over before deciding whether to give it another wipe.
Soak the sticker with hot soapy water for 10 minutes or so and the glue will start to weaken. At this point, it should be easy enough to pull the sticker off with your fingers.
Measuring a window fitting can be more complicated than it might seem, so it’s worth asking your chosen contractors to take care of this for you.
However, if you’d like to do it yourself, make sure that you measure the height and width of the window from outside of your property – you want to check the size of the opening, not the frame.
Ask your window installers if they’d like you to take any measurements away. Some will ask you to remove 10mm from your measurements, just to make sure the window fits comfortably.
Cleaning your UPVC windows should be nice and easy, and all it takes is a simple solution of warm water and soap. Wipe the frames with a soft cloth and rinse off any suds with clean water. If you want to get into the corners, gently using an old toothbrush should do the trick. To avoid scratching your frames, make sure to use a soft cloth and stay away from any abrasive sponges or scourers. You should also check that your soap doesn’t contain chemicals that could damage the UPVC, such as bleach.
